I’ve pulled together this list of resources for business leaders who are starting out their journey to future proof their careers in the digital age.
Blockchain, digital assets, and crypto are fast becoming part of our everyday lives at work and at home. Knowledge and application are an essential skill for business leaders to have today and into the future.
It's never too late to 'learn' blockchain and crypto
It’s never too late for professionals in any sector to embrace these new technologies, and to find positive and practical use cases for their business to improve efficiency, transparency, and value. Understandably, it can be hard to know where to start in navigating this new world when there’s so much noise to cut through.
For example, it’s easy to get caught up in the mainstream and consumer media headlines which, on balance, lean towards sensationalising the digital asset market. It makes for great news to only focus on wild swings in Bitcoin prices, the enormous amounts of energy that Bitcoin mining uses, or to continually paint crypto markets as a haven for criminal activity and sanctions evasions.
In truth, there are elements of all of these things, as there are in traditional fiat monetary markets and jurisdictions with unstable or unjust geopolitical challenges.
The blockchain community is generous with their time
The many professionals already embedded in the digital asset market are striving for balance. They recognise the challenges to bring a more educated and informed view to course correct the “all crypto is bad” perception and reputation. As stewards of the responsible adoption of blockchain and crypto, there is a generous and collaborative community spirit with many experts willing to share the infinite use cases, benefits, blockers, and challenges with those still in the early stages of understanding this new digital monetary system.
On the flip side, those not already directly exposed to the digital asset market, have a professional duty to understand how these new technologies operate and to form an educated view of risk and reward. This is not unlike the need for business leaders and policy makers in the 1990s and 2000s to understand the risk and rewards of the internet revolution
Today is a good day to start on your professional digital transformation journey. Immerse yourself, connect with experts, and find your flavor of digital assets and blockchain by digging a little deeper than the nightly news headlines and the latest box set drama on streaming channels.
